Is this Boston Celtics team channeling the 2008 championship team?

The Boston Celtics are entering a new season with questions about leadership after the departure of Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies. While Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are expected to step up, some believe that emotional leaders can be effective, while others argue that the best players should lead the team.

Tatum’s offseason training with Celtics legend Paul Pierce is a positive influence to either point of view. Pierce’s advice and focus on physical conditioning can help Tatum become a more dominant force on the court.  The team as a whole appears to be embracing a championship mentality early in the season, and the bonding and dedication of the ball club are reminiscent of the 2008 title team, known for its unity and commitment.
