Is there room to house the whole UK population in semi-detacheds in Kent?

When I was an architectural student in the 1950s I was told most emphatically that the whole population of the UK could be housed in semi-detached houses within the area of Kent. Is this still the case? Or is it a bit more than just Kent now?
