Is there finally some good news for the Oakland Raiders?

The Oakland Raiders have gone from playoff team just a few years ago to a team that’s now in contention of taking the mantle of sorriest NFL franchise now that the Cleveland Browns have managed to crawl out of the doldrums.

The first year of Jon Gruden 2.0 did not go as well as fans were hoping when Chucky decided to make his triumphant return to the sideline after years in the broadcast booth.

The Raiders limped to a 4-12 record and say goodbye to some franchise favorites when they traded away Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. Now, the Raiders will be picking three times in the first round thanks to those trades, and four times in the top 50. And, while some people may not think that’s going to help in the immediate future, this stat might make them think otherwise.

Take a look.

We all saw what the Browns did last season, going 7-8-1 after going 0-16 the year before. Their four selections in the 2018 draft were Baker Mayfield, Denzel Ward, Austin Corbett and Nick Chubb. Not a bad group.

Gruden and new general manager Mike Mayock will need to hit these picks out of the park to not only appease their current fan base, but draw interest from Vegas fans in advance of their move.
