Is there any chance of snow or freezing weather this month? Met Eireann's 30-day forecast

Met Eireann aren't currently forecasting any blasts of wintry weather this month as we head into the depths of winter.

Temperatures are set to fluctuate in and around normal for the entire month with no sign of major weather events, according to the national forecaster.

And the end of the month could even see temperatures warmer than usual, albeit long range forecasts are notoriously unreliable.

Here's the current forecast for the next four weeks from Met Eireann.

Met Eireann's long-range forecast

Week 1 (Monday 08 November to Sunday 14 November)

High pressure dominates western Europe with Ireland lying on the western fringes. In a generally southeasterly airflow, mean temperatures will be a degree or two above average across the country while there will be below average rainfall. The dominant high pressure blocks any advancement of very active fronts, while keeping the conditions temperate. The hazards risk next week will likely be relatively low.

Week 2 (Monday 15 November to Sunday 21 November)

Week 2 High pressure maintains its control on the weather, however it will shift to the west generating a west to northwest airflow. Overall the mean temperatures will fall closer to average with the drier than average conditions prevailing. The hazards again look to be generally benign with no strong signals of Low pressure making a return, however as temperatures return closer to normal, the chance of frosty nights may return.

Freezing temperatures are forecast for December (PA)

Week 3 (Monday 22 November to Sunday 28 November)

Week 3 overall has a weaker signal of high pressure to our west directing in a more northerly airflow over the country with most areas seeing normal, or slightly less than normal, precipitation. Temperatures will be near normal for the time of year with a growing risk of frost, however other hazard risk look relatively small at this time.

Week 4 (Monday 29 November to Sunday 05 December)

On week 4 there is a stronger resurgence of high pressure over the country with, near or above average temperatures, slacker winds and drier conditions overall. There is no strong hazard signals at this time and generally it looks quite settled.
