Is there an Antonio Brown ‘curse’? Antonio Brown thinks so

Okay, this one is a bit of a stretch, but then again, aren’t curses a bit of a stretch to begin with?

In recent weeks, we’ve seen the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints all either be eliminated from participating in the postseason, or get knocked out of the playoffs.

What do all those teams have in common? They all were involved in some way with either signing, trading for, working out or nearly acquiring Antonio Brown.

The free-agent receiver sent a tweet on Sunday afternoon that deemed it the “Antonio Brown curse”:

Let’s review the details here.

The Steelers dealt Brown after he was disgruntled in the offseason, sending the Pittsburgh receiver for life — up to that point — to the Raiders. The Steelers had a shot at the postseason in Week 17 but fell short.

The Raiders released Brown after all kinds of drama during training camp, and Oakland had a very small chance at the playoffs in Week 17 with a scenario that didn’t end up going their way.

The Bills — and I honesty COMPLETELY forgot about this — were about thisclose to a trade for Brown before the Raiders got him. Buffalo was eliminated by the Texans on Saturday.

The Patriots signed Brown after the Raiders released him and he played in one game before New England let him go. The Pats are out after losing to the Tennessee Titans.

And the Saints gave Brown a workout last month, but nothing came of it beyond that. New Orleans bowed out after a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime on Sunday.

There you have it. An Antonio Brown curse? Sure.
