As the government's vision for the future of the NHS is published, a poll in the Daily Telegraph suggests barely one in five people believes the Labour party will provide a better health service over the next 10 years.
"The results of the poll show the Tories have a clear lead on health
policy, with 31% of people saying they would do a better job of
running the health service, compared with 23% who think Labour would
deliver on the NHS."
The papers are marking the 60th anniversary of the national health service this week with commemorative packages and a battle of the graphics. The Times features an annotated stethoscope doubling as a timeline, while the Financial Times has a "key moments" interactive guide.
The Guardian, which launched its own NHS 60th anniversary coverage a week or two ago, today reveals that EU workers building new hospitals are taking home as little as £8.80 a week.
