The long Easter weekend is upon us. And whether you're planning some DIY or catching up with friends and family, have you remembered to pick up all your essentials from the supermarket?
Tesco superstores will be closed all day on Easter Sunday, so if you need to pop to the shop, the only Tesco stores open on Easter Sunday are the smaller stores.
On Easter Monday you should expect Tesco superstores to open between 9am and 6pm, with some exceptions.

The smaller Tesco Metro and Express stores, as well as the smaller Sainsbury's shops, tend to operate their usual opening times (usually around 7am-11pm), even on bank holidays, so that's your best bet if you're stuck.

Large shops in England and Wales must close for Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
So if you really need some essentials, you'll have to find a smaller Tesco, Sainsbury's or Co-op, and the like, to do your shopping.
Shops exempt from the Sunday trading restrictions for large shops include:
- airport and railway station outlets
- service station outlets
- registered pharmacies selling only medicinal products and medical and surgical appliances
- farms selling mainly their own produce
- outlets wholly or mainly selling motor or bicycle supplies and accessories
- suppliers of goods to aircraft or sea-going vessels on arrival at, or departure from, a port, harbour or airport
- exhibition stands selling goods
