Is Strictly Come Dancing live or recorded? Class of 2020 make their ballroom debut in new series

The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc with many TV shows this year but one programme it has failed to force off air is Strictly Come Dancing

There were genuine fears that this year's Strictly wouldn't happen at all because of the pandemic but bosses have taken steps to ensure that it will happen and fully in line with Government guidance.

The Strictly lineup for this year includes Max George, HRVY, Caroline Quentin and Jason Bell and last week they all revealed which pro dancer they are paired up with.

On Saturday, October 24, millions of viewers will get a first look at this year's contestants in competitive ballroom action as they take to the floor with their professional partners in a bid to impress judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.

Bruno Tonioli is missing in action, due to being in the States, but he will be giving his verdict on each results show.

Is Strictly Come Dancing live?

Yes, while other big talent shows like The Search and Britain's Got Talent have pre-recorded their knock off rounds, Strictly will be fully live.

And it will also be fully in line with all current rules, with both the professional dancers and celebrities forming bubbles in order to rehearse and dance together.

Just like on BGT, the judges panel has gone, with each judge now having their own table to give their scores from.

Many of the group performances you will see this series have been recorded already, with the professionals revealing some of them on the launch show, including work on the routines from this year's final.
