St Patrick's Day 2020 is just a couple of weeks away and unless the coronavirus has something to say it should be another great occasion.
With the national holiday falling on a Tuesday many people are confused as to what days they will actually get off.

When is St Patrick's Day 2020?
St Patrick's Day 2020 falls this year on a Tuesday and it's not far away now with it being March 17.
Is it a bank holiday?
Even though it's a Tuesday and bank holidays are generally on Mondays, St Patrick's Day will of course be a bank holiday so most people will be off that day - unless your employer needs you in.
Will you get Monday off as well?
It is slightly inconvenient that you have to go back to work on Monday and are then off again Tuesday but that's just the way it has fallen this year.
Unless your employer is feeling very generous you will be in work on Monday as there is no obligation for them to give you an extra day off.
Schools and all public sector workers will be in but if you were smart enough to book the Monday off you'll have an extra long weekend.
Could the coronavirus cancel the day?
There is a possibility that the coronavirus could see parades all over the country called off as mass gatherings are not recommended by the experts during an outbreak.
However, regardless of whether there is a parade, your bank holiday is secure and coronavirus can't take that day off from you.
