Is Soldier Field the 7th best stadium in the NFL?

The Athletic recently polled their NFL writers about the best and worst stadiums across the league. Writers gave their top five and bottom five stadiums, and the final rankings were tallied as a result.

Soldier Field received seven votes as a “top” stadium and three votes as a “bottom” stadium. When all was said and done, Soldier Field locked up honors as the seventh best stadium in the NFL. And it was certainly a shock.

Here’s a look at The Athletic’s top 10 stadiums:

  1. U.S. Bank Stadium (Vikings)
  2. CenturyLink Field (Seahawks)
  3. AT&T Stadium (Cowboys)
  4. Lambeau Field (Packers)
  5. Arrowhead Stadium (Chiefs)
  6. Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Falcons)
  7. Soldier Field (Bears)
  8. State Farm Stadium (Cardinals)
  9. Lincoln Financial Field (Eagles)
  10. Heinz Field (Steelers)

While Soldier Field has history on its side and beautiful sights, it’s certainly not at the same level of some new state-of-the-art stadiums. Not to mention it has the smallest seating capacity in the league and it’s difficult to access through public transportation.

Then again, there’s nothing like attending a game at Soldier Field and knowing that legends have played on that field. While the Bears have had their struggles, there’s been some pretty memorable games played at Soldier Field. And it’s ultimately the history that you don’t get with those newer stadiums.

What say you, Bears fans? Do you agree with The Athletic’s ranking of Soldier Field at No. 7?
