Is Saturday Night Takeaway still on? ITV show suffers setback as Florida finale is cancelled

Saturday Night Takeaway viewers have raised concerns about the rest of the series after it was confirmed that the show's Florida finale has been cancelled due to coronavirus.

The return of Takeaway has proved a big ratings winner for ITV, with its first episode attracting an average audience of 7.3 million, peaking at 8.4 million, the show's highest ratings since 2005.

It's given us lots of talking points too. Episode 1 saw a Newcastle family given a £200,000 dream house for free and the Pussycat Dolls performance spark Ofcom complaints.

And then a week later, Anne-Marie and ITV were forced to apologise after the Ciao Adios singer's star turn on the show featured Ant and Dec wearing karate uniforms and bandanas carrying the controversial Rising Sun flag.

The most recent episode on Saturday, March 7 has also attracted its fair share of attention. A couple's 'inappropriate' kiss has prompted Ofcom complaints and the show also left viewers at home in shock when Ant appeared to break a camera.

And now there's more drama with the news that Saturday Night Takeaway's Florida finale has been cancelled . But the show WILL go on this weekend, with Ant and Dec tweeting: ""On our way in to prepare your #SaturdayNightTakeaway for tonight. We’re business as usual and will be for as long as we are able and allowed. We’ll do our best to bring you a few smiles."

Tonight's guest announcer will be showbiz legend Joanna Lumley.
