Is Rose West still alive? Notorious serial killer focus of new ITV special Their Untold Story

Mass murderer Rose West is the subject of a new ITV special which will expose the prison secrets of her and fellow serial killer Myra Hindley.

Sir Trevor McDonald is on hosting duties for R ose West and Myra Hinley: Their Untold Story which will broadcast on ITV on Monday, September 21 at 9pm.

In what looks set to be truly shocking viewing, the programme reveals how West and Hindley grew close in jail in the 'horror H wing' at HMP Durham, bonding over their similar crimes.

West ended up in prison after being found guilty of ten murders, with her husband, Fred West, including killing her own daughter.

After developing a close relationship with Hindley, the villainous pair then embarked on an affair, which cooled as they became rivals to be ‘prison royalty’.

The hour-long show will detail how Hindley continued to manipulate people from behind bars just as she deceived the children she abducted, even persuading a nun turned prison guard to help her escape.

Is Rose West still alive?

Hindley from bronchial pneumonia at West Suffolk Hospital in November 2002 aged 60 but Rose West is still alive and is now 66.

Fred and Rose West's daughter interviewed on GMB

She was moved to New Hall jail in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. It was widely reported that the catalyst for the transfer was the fact that fellow murder Joanna Dennehy had threatened to kill her.

Fred West died in January 1995 after fatally asphyxiating himself while on remand at HM Prison Birmingham.
