The 2019 season could be a big one for the Oakland Raiders. If it doesn’t go well, though, could Jon Gruden be on his way out? Is he on the hot seat? Maybe.
According to Barry Werner of the Touchdown Wire, Gruden is one of 12 coaches on the hot seat this season. Take a look at his explanation:
This could be a bit premature but when you have a massive contract big things are expected. Jon Gruden got off to a 4-12 start in what is a rebuilding project with Oakland. He should be looking at time until the team moves to Las Vegas. However, another dud of a season and the flame on his coaching career will start to turn up.
It would be hard to imagine a scenario in which Gruden wasn’t with the team heading into Las Vegas. General manager Mike Mayock knows this team is still in the rebuilding stage, and Gruden is in charge of turning things around. Look for the Raiders to continue to honor Gruden’s contract, regardless of their 2019 successes.
