Is Primark's 'Bring Your Own Bag Day' a scam?

The internet has been bubbling with excitement over rumours that high street favourite Primark is having a 'bring your own bag day'.

According to Facebook statues and Tweets, the day means that you can "bring any size bag and fill it up with as many items as you can fit for £25".

The catch? It is being held on February 30. Whenever that is, right?

Even when its a leap year, February only has 29 days.

Clearly meant as a joke, some seem to have fallen for the prank and are getting a little too excited about things.

One fashion fan said on Twitter: "Omg omg omg! Primark is doing a bring your own bag day!"

Some are tweeting the store directly to see if it is true.

This isn't the first time shoppers have been caught out by the rumours, having caused chaos last year as customers raced to find out more information.

At the time, a Primark spokesperson said: “While this particular promotion is unfortunately not genuine, Primark offers customers amazing fashion at amazing prices every day of the year – or at least on those that appear in the calendar!”
