Coronation Street is airing tough scenes on the ITV soap, centring around relapsing alcoholic Peter Barlow and his recent diagnosis.

Peter was diagnosed with liver failure recently after collapsing, following his alcoholism relapse last year.
The character was told he needed a liver transplant to survive, but he has rejected this.
He asked his nephew Adam to draw up an ‘Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment’ declaration, and in more recent scenes he wrote his son Simon a farewell note.
Viewers now fear the character will die from his battle, with him telling dad Ken he didn't know how to give up the booze.
Why did Peter relapse? Will he survive?
Peter began drinking again late last year, before he was rushed to hospital and learned his diagnosis.
Since then he has suffered seizures and collapsed due to the damage to his body.
It's not yet confirmed if Peter will survive, while he is thought to be in scenes going forward.
Bosses are keeping quiet over the outcome of the storyline though, so viewers will have to stay tuned.

Peter is played by actor Chris Gascoyne, who has portrayed the role since 2000.
