O2 users had issues with the network on Friday morning, with some stating problems sending texts following a mass data outage.

The mobile provider reported at 3.30am on Friday that issues with its 4G system which blighted users had been resolved.

However, many still complained about issues with their mobile phones.

A number said were remain unable to send text messages on social media, with O2 stating it had reports from a "small proportion of customers".

The service provider stated that the service was back to normal at around 1.15pm.

Some stated they were not being delivered, others claimed they were but their handset told them they had not been.

Then others were frustrated at texts seemingly not sending but then actually being distributed multiple times.

A total of 32 million customers were thought to be affected by the date outage on Thursday, with phones failing to show any connection.

The issues have also impacted GiffGaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky and Lycamobile customers, whose services run through the same systems as O2.

02, Britain’s second biggest mobile network blamed the issue on a third-party supplier and Ericsson, which makes mobile network equipment.
