Is MLB The Show 26 Coming To PC?

The launch of MLB The Show 26 is right around the corner, and PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo players are gearing up for a new year of virtual baseball. We single out those consoles since those are the three platforms on which Sony has released MLB The Show for the past couple of years. Of course, the one major absence from that list is PC, and fans who play the majority of their games on a computer have been clamoring for a first-party release of MLB The Show for the better part of a decade.

While there have been some workarounds to play MLB The Show on PC in the past, the community is ready for an actual launch through Steam, Epic Games Store, or some other marketplace. So, this begs the question: Is MLB The Show 26 finally the game that will deliver the long-awaited PC release?

Can You Play MLB The Show 26 On PC?

Unfortunately, the short answer to the question is no, MLB The Show 26 won’t be released on PC when it launches in mid-March. This has been confirmed by Sony, as there are no official listings for the game on any PC marketplace, and the developers have reaffirmed that it’s arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Obviously, this is once again disappointing to fans hoping to play some virtual baseball on their computer. However, in years past, PC players have been able to boot up MLB The Show through their Xbox Game Pass subscription. While it wasn’t the same as a first-party release, it was certainly better than nothing.

Well, the bad news keeps on coming for PC fans, as MLB The Show 26 won’t be released on Game Pass, at least at launch. The game is following the same path as MLB The Show 25, which wasn’t released on Microsoft’s subscription service during its entire life cycle this past year. We never received an official reason as to why Sony stopped releasing MLB The Show on Game Pass, but the console war between PlayStation and Xbox likely played a major factor.

So, with MLB The Show 26 not releasing on PC through a marketplace or on Xbox Game Pass, is there any hope for PC fans? While it does look grim at the game’s launch, there might be a sliver of hope down the line.

MLB The Show 26 Could Come To PC In The Future

One of the workarounds that PC players have been able to take advantage of to play MLB The Show in the past is using the Xbox Cloud Streaming service. This was especially prevalent in MLB The Show 24, as that was the last game to be released through Game Pass. However, the workaround took a major hit last year in MLB The Show 25, as players couldn’t use Game Pass to play any longer.

With MLB The Show 26, the workaround would revolve around whether or not you’re able to buy the game on your Xbox and then use Cloud Streaming to stream it to your PC that’s linked to the same Xbox account. It wasn’t really feasible in MLB The Show 25, so it’s likely that similar troubles will be at play this year.

However, PC fans might not have to depend on unreliable workarounds or a Game Pass release to play MLB The Show 26. Back in October of 2025, Sony San Diego Studio, the developers of MLB The Show, posted a new job listing that called for a senior PC programmer to work on a new AAA title. San Diego Studio’s primary franchise is MLB The Show, so this job listing raised many eyebrows, as a majority of fans assumed this meant the developers were finally working on a PC port.

While this hasn’t been confirmed or denied by any official source, the fact that we’re not getting an MLB The Show 26 port at launch isn’t good or bad news. The job listing was posted in October of 2025, which was fairly late in the development cycle for MLB The Show 26. So, the job listing could be for a PC port of MLB The Show 27 or possibly a port that’s releasing halfway through the life cycle of MLB The Show 26.

At this point, we can only speculate as to what San Diego Studio has cooking behind the scenes. One thing we can fully confirm, though, is that MLB The Show 26 won’t be coming to PC when it launches on March 17, or March 13 if you get early access. Regardless, you’ll have to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch.
