Is Marvin Lewis on his way back to the NFL?

This was always going to be speculation surrounding former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis once he joined up with Herm Edwards at Arizona State.

And it sure doesn’t hurt that the Sun Devils are 5-2, with the defense having given up more than 20 points just three times.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo noted he thinks Lewis’ name will come up on the coaching carousel: “I believe that Marvin Lewis is going to get some serious consideration in the upcoming NFL coaching cycle for a head coaching job. I truly believe there’s a possibility … and even on the college level as well too.”

Of course, Lewis might rebuff anything that might come his way because he’s comfortable with the Sun Devils and close to family.

But NFL teams are bound to have an interest given his body of work, and Cincinnati’s utter failure without him this year only reinforces his reputation as a solid candidate.
