One of the first questions the gaming community asks about any new release is always the same: Is it cross-platform? Can we play with friends?
Madden 26 is no exception. Scoring insane touchdowns is a lot more fun when you’re doing it with (or against) your friends. This leads us to the big question: Is Madden 26 cross-platform compatible? Can your PlayStation fanatic friend still play with you, even though he refuses to build a PC? Let’s break it down.
Will Madden 26 Be Cross-Platform Compatible?
The answer to that question is yes, Madden 26 will be cross-play compatible. You can now breathe a sigh of relief since you’ll be able to challenge your friends across a variety of platforms. Put your skills to the test and show them who’s boss as you battle it out on the gridiron.
There are several platforms you can play the game on, including:
- PlayStation 5
- PC
- Xbox Series X/S
On release, these will be the only 3 platforms that will support cross-platform gameplay. We might see more cross-platform gameplay in the future as this feature picks up in popularity, but that’s something for a future date.
However, if cross-platform gaming isn’t your thing, and you prefer just playing against players on the same platform, EA’s got you covered.
How To Enable/Disable Cross-Platform?
You now know which platforms support cross-platform gameplay, but how do you actually turn it on (or off)? The cross-play feature will be turned on by default when you start the game. If you wish to toggle cross-platform settings, you can find the settings here:
- For Xbox Series X/S, go to the system settings to toggle cross-platform gameplay
- For PC and PlayStation 5, go to the in-game settings menu.
Once you’ve chosen your preferred method of gameplay, you’re good to go. It should be noted that once the cross-platform feature is turned on, you’ll be added to the respective matchmaking pool.
It might seem unfair to some players, which is why the toggle is available. If you only want cross-play available when playing with friends, make sure to turn it off while playing solo.
How To Invite Friends From Other Platforms?
We’ve mentioned the platforms and the settings, it’s now time to explain the invites. To invite your friends in Madden 26, follow these steps:
- Open the EA Connect interface in-game
- Find the Player Search option and enter their EA Identification Number/platform identifier (Xbox Series X/S gamertag or PSN ID)
- Send an invite and bring them onto the field
Luckily for Madden players, you can play almost all the modes in cross-play. Head-to-Head, Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, and Superstar Showdown are all supported by the cross-platform feature.
The last thing to keep in mind is that cross-platform will affect leaderboards. If you have the cross-platform feature turned on, you’ll be placed accordingly in a global leaderboard. However, if you’ve turned off the feature, your placement will be in a platform-specific leaderboard.
