Is Le’Veon Bell’s asking price taking a nosedive?

There has been a flourish of activity over the past two days in the NFL. Even though free agency can’t officially begin until Wednesday, legal tampering began two days ago and the reported deals are flying in. But one name we haven’t heard is that of Le’Veon Bell. The Pittsburgh Steelers allowed Bell to hit free agency but things have been very quiet.

And according to some analysts and reporters, this means his asking price is taking a hit as the time goes by. As you see from the tweets above, guys like Albert Breer and Gregg Rosenthal as speculating Bell could actually get less money on the open market than the Steelers were willing to give him last season.

Bell quit on the Steelers last season and in turn forfeited over $14 million in salary. This move was calculated by Bell as a way to assure he was healthy and he has remained confident he’d get it all back in his new contract. If the rumors are true, Bell miscalculated his value a great deal.
