Kelsy Karter shocked fans when she revealed a tattoo of Harry Styles’ face on her cheek – but not everyone is convinced, with many branding it “fake”.
The self-confessed Styles fan, 24, showed off the distinctive inking on her Instagram page, crediting LA-based tattoo artist Romeo Lacoste.
Her unusual face art is inspired by a promotional shot taken for Styles’ self-titled 2017 album.
But some social media users have been left questioning the tattoo, with many claiming that it is “fake” and a “publicity stunt”.
One wrote: “This is so fake. I know what a fresh tattoo looks like, it looks highly irritated and red lining around the edges the red around it is clearly splotchy and this is almost guaranteed pen ink, nice try.”
Another said: “I’m pretty sure Kelsy Karter’s tattoo is fake and this is all just a stunt but good for her.”
“That Kelsy Karter girl clearly got a fake Harry “tattoo” for publicity and it’s working,” wrote somebody else.
The New Zealand-born singer timed her tattoo with the release of her latest song, aptly named Harry, which she describes as an “ode” to the star.
Debuting the video, Karter told Billboard: “The song says it all, doesn't it? It's just my ode to him, I guess. I think he's amazing and, come on, he's like the best person on the planet.
“I love that he's from the pop world and went and did a rock album and introduced kids to rock 'n' roll, to sounds they wouldn't have otherwise heard.
“Everything he's doing is amazing and bold. I want to be a female version of that in my career.”
