Is June 1 the best day of sport this year?

It's not very often that the Champions League final isn't the highlight of the day of sport - but that's definitely the case on June 1.

Whether you like horse racing, football, GAA or boxing - this day has everything in a dream day for sports lovers.

In a year that has already provided so many great moments from the world of sport - this day could well be the biggest one yet.

And whatever you're watching that day, be sure not to miss any of the action by following the Irish Mirror's live blogs.

What's on:

4:30 PM: The Epsom Derby

You can get the day off to a good start by backing the winner in this year's derby.

The Epsom showpiece is the highlight of the flat calendar and the dream of the bloodstock world is to be involved with a Derby winner.

Aidan O'Brien is already building a formidable battalion for the race after Magna Grecia's victory in the 1,000 Guineas saw him train 14 of the last 27 British Classics winners.

He has the current pre-race favourite Sir Dragonet who romped home in the Chester Vase earlier this month.

7 PM: Munster SFC semi-finals

This year's Munster Championship has already proven that it can throw up an odd shock with Limerick's dramatic victory over potential provincial challengers Tipperary.

The Treaty men will fancy their chances against Cork while you've the small matter of Kerry travelling up to Ennis to face a confident Clare side.

8 PM: Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur, Champions League Final

In what has arguably been one of the most entertaining and memorable Champions League season in some time - and we've got a near perfect finale on the way in Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are aiming to prevent a glorious failure after becoming the best Premier League runners-up in history. In their way will be a buoyant Spurs side, with nothing to lose and everything to gain after coming back from the dead against Ajax in the semi-final.

Who will blink first?

11 PM: Joshua v Ruiz Jr. & Taylor v Persoon

You better make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before because attention then switches to boxing and Madison Square Garden late on.

Not only will fans be looking forward to Anthony Joshua defending his heavyweight belts, but Irish fans will probably be more interested in Katie Taylor's bid at unifying the lightweight belts when she takes on Delfine Persoon on the undercard.

The Bray native has dominated the amateur game before winning Olympic gold, and will look to officially take control of the pro game in the biggest fight of her career.
