Is Jayson Tatum recruiting Aron Baynes back to the Boston Celtics?

Is Boston Celtics All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum recruiting former teammate Aron Baynes?

While we try not to read offseason social media activity by current players as evidence of anything but social media activity by current Celtics, the fit is too good and ties too strong to dismiss the possibility outright.

Looking back on what could have been one of the bigger missed opportunities for Boston boiling down to a lack of depth, scoring and burlier bigs, adding a guy who checks all three boxes at once seems a no-brainer.

Add in that he still cares for the team he last played on before joining the Phoenix Suns last season in a deal to make space for point guard Kemba Walker and it very well could be some peer pressure to return to Boston in free agency.

Given he spoke glowingly about the team when we crossed paths in Mexico City last December, revealing he still kept close tabs on his teammates and the potential major role he could have here, it could also simply be old friends keeping in touch.

You really never know this time of the…NBA calendar.
