Is Jaguars’ Tashaun Gipson a good trade target for Redskins?

Could the Washington Redskins capitalize on the Jacksonville Jaguars bad cap situation and strike a trade for Tashaun Gipson?

Sounds wild on first pass — but teams are apparently giving the Jaguars calls about the idea:

It says a lot about Gipson as a player that teams would make calls despite major names like Earl Thomas and Landon Collins set to hit free agency.

Granted, Gipson is due $8 million next year. But he’s only 28 years old and solid in coverage, so money is the only reason the Jaguars might entertain the idea of a move.

Technically, the Redskins need to make moves at both safety spots this year. Rather than entering a bidding war they can’t afford on the open market, a trade for a player of Gipson’s caliber might be the best option.
