Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday's paper.
This week's question
My tight-wad/pseudo-green husband won't let me put on the central heating until the end of October, though it's cold already. Even then, he insists the thermostat remains at 18C. Am I condemned to a life in thermal underwear, or do I have to boot him out to warm up?
