Is it time for the Steelers to trust Chris Boswell again?

Last season was a nightmare for Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell. But despite his struggles, the team has chosen to stick by him. Through just over a week of training camp, the trust seems to have paid off. According to reports from those in attendance at practice, Boswell has been near perfect on his kicks and seems to be back on track.

But is it too soon to trust Boswell? It really depends on what story you believe. Boswell seemed to be dealing with a case of the yips last season and no matter what he tried to do to improve, he couldn’t get out of his own head. But a report came out at the end of the season when Boswell was placed on injured/reserve before the team’s final game that he actually had a groin tear.

The Steelers kicking game was in shambles last season after being a strength of the team for the previous two seasons. There’s no getting around the fact that missed kicks cost the Steelers games last season. Is it time to trust Boswell again to be the weapon he was in 2017 or is the kicking game still an open competition?
