Spain is currently on the Amber list for travel, meaning those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 don't need to quarantine when they return to the UK.
The country is a firm favourite with British holiday-goers, and with cases of coronavirus declining steeply, many will be wondering if it's safe to travel.
As of now, it looks like Spain is likely to remain on the amber list, rather than be added to the green list.
That does mean that those who aren't fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will need to quarantine when they come back to the UK – although they can do this at home and not at a quarantine hotel.
Here is everything you need to know about whether it's safe to travel to Spain right now.
Is it safe to travel to Spain?
According to the TravelHealthPro website, there is currently a "high risk of exposure to Covid-19 in Spain including the Canary and Balaeric Islands".
The website continues: "All travellers should check the FCDO travel advice and carefully consider the risks of exposure to Covid-19 before travel. Those in clinically extremely vulnerable groups should seek advice before travel."
Individuals entering or returning to the UK may be required to follow additional UK border measures including self-isolation."
In addition to Covid, there are also other safety aspects which need to be taken into consideration if travelling to Spain.
According to the Foreign Office, "terrorists are likely to carry out attacks in Spain".
The Foreign Office also urges people to be wary of street crime, as "thieves tend to target money and passport," so you shouldn't keep these all in one place.
Spain entry requirements

If you wish to travel to Spain, and you are aged 12 or over, you need to either:
A negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within 72 hors of travelling
Proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days before you travel
Before travelling to Spain you also need to have completed a health control form, no more than 48 hours before travelling.
Spain is on the Amber list, which means those returning to the UK will have to follow certain rules.
Before you return you must take a Covid-19 test in the three days before you return.
You must also pay and book for a day two coronavirus test, which should be taken after arrival in England.
You must also complete a passenger locator form.
If you are not fully vaccinated you must also quarantine at home, or in the place you are staying, for 10 days.
In addition to these measures, you will have to take a Covid-19 test on or after day eight after your return.
What are the Covid rules in Spain?

This is also the case in crowded outdoor areas. You will also have to adhere to a 1.5-metre social distancing rule.
Keep in mind that some regions of the country has its own restrictions, so check the rules before travelling.
