Easter Sunday is sunny for many with a pleasant, if fresh, feel to the weather.
But it's about to turn much colder for Easter Monday, for far northern areas of the UK.
There could as much as 15cm of snow falling in higher areas, with Met Office yellow weather warnings in place from 6pm tonight until midnight on Monday for northern Scotland.
Parts of the UK saw the mercury reach nearly 24C (75.2F) on Wednesday – a balmy high which is not likely to be repeated on Easter Sunday.
Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said the south of England can expect to see temperatures of 16C (60.8F) or 17C (62.6F) on Easter Sunday, with a high of 18C possible.
But this is expected to drop to 7C (44.6F) or 8C (46.4F) by Monday. And the temperature could be as low as -1C in Oldham between 8am and 10am on Easter Monday, but sunny.
The yellow weather warning from the Met Office said: "Frequent heavy snow showers will affect northern Scotland on Sunday night and Monday and may lead to some travel disruption."
Craig Snell, forecaster for the Met Office, said: “After a taste of summer for a lot of the UK, we will see things turn much colder as we go through the second half of the Easter weekend."
Mr Snell said although it was not unusual to see snow at this time of year, it would be a “shock to the system”, following balmy temperatures felt earlier in the week.
It looks like our region will escape the worst of the snow showers, thankfully, but it will be much colder than it has been recently.
