The great City of Liverpool and the Wirral Peninsula are divided by the River Mersey - yet the two areas have a shared history.
Both boast stunning coastlines, and attractions that people travel from across the UK to visit.
Connected by road, with two Mersey Tunnels, by rail, with the underground, and by sea, with the Mersey Ferries service, both Liverpudlians and Wirralians have been taking daytrips across the river for generations.
