Netflix is home to some of the most binge-worthy dating reality shows out there.
From Love Is Blind to Too Hot to Handle, the streaming platform has released a number of hit dating shows and in 2020 it continued its streak by coming out with the brand new series Indian Matchmaking.
Now, the reality show is back for a second season as Indian Matchmaker Sima Tiparia returns to help singletons find love.
Season two will see the return of some fan favourite cast members from the first season, as well as some brand new faces.
The first series of the show featured some truly cringeworthy moments that left fans wondering whether the reality show could really be genuine, or if it was scripted — here's what we know.
Is Indian Matchmaking real?

Nadia Jagessar is one of the breakout stars from season one of Indian Matchmaking and will be returning in her continued attempts to find a love match during season two.
According to her, the show isn't scripted at all.
She took to Instagram to dispel the scripted rumours after the series first aired.
The reality star wrote: "The story was told in such a genuine way and I loved how real everything was.
"So many people asked if this was staged or scripted or fake in any way and I can assure you it wasn’t (at least not from my end)!"
One of Nadia's matches on the show also spoke out about how "real" it was.

Vinay Chadha told E! News: "What you saw in that episode, on our first date, that was very real.
"We hit it off so well and it was so genuine and pure. That was one of the best first dates I ever had. And from that we actually did end up dating for about two months."
But Vinay also said that a scene that showed him not turning up to a pre-planned dessert date with Nadia wasn't exactly how things had played out in real life.
He claimed: "Unfortunately for me, it got edited in a way that wasn't nearly as true to myself and true to what actually happened."
Explaining what really happened, Vinay said: "We were supposed to hang out after and I did text her that I had a family emergency.
"She wasn't happy about it. I can see that she lost confidence in me, so I actually got her flowers and I ordered her [cookies]. And then [weeks later] we were planning to go see Toy Story 4. That morning, I cancelled because I had a fever.
"Overall, the reaction from her wasn't that pleasant. I tried my hardest to effectively communicate to her, but I think at that point the relationship was on its way down."
