Is I'm A Celebrity 2021 on ITV tonight – and will it be a live episode?

Questions over the future of this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! arose after the castle was subjected to treacherous conditions.

The hit ITV series was cancelled over the weekend and forced off the air for the first time in its 19-year existence due to the weather.

Storm Arwen battered the UK with winds on up to 98 miles an hour in Scotland and parts of northern England.

Places as far south as Wales were also hit by winds of around 80 miles an hour and much of the set was destroyed. With chaos in the castle, the celebrities were evacuated to nearby hotels.

So is I'm A Celebrity on tonight? Here is everything you need to know.

The show will return at 9pm on Tuesday, November 30. Fans were left disappointed that the show could not return the night before, but Freddie and Jamie's DNA Journey aired in its place.

For a brief while, the show looked to be in real doubt due to the situation, but quick work from the team on set means that one of the nation's favourite shows will air one again tonight.

Damage was contained to just the set. In a statement from the building’s official trust confirmed that the Gwrych castle had "suffered no significant damage."

The damage to the castle was minimal, but a 100ft tree did crash into it as a result of the high winds.

Stars were evacuated in order for the set to be repaired more quickly. They did not have access to the outside world and had to remain in quarantine in order for them to be able to continue to take part in the show.

Will it be a live episode?

It is business as usual as far as the show's producers are concerned, meaning Ant and Dec will be back presenting live bits, and the programme will end in its typical fashion of a vote for the next person to do a trial.

Over the weekend, 'best bits' compilation programmes were used to fill the empty slot left by the show. However, these shows only drew an average of 1.9million viewers. By comparison, the show's launch draws an average of 11.9 million viewers.

Star presenters Ant and Dec were reduced to an Instagram live show.

They said at the time: "This is the best we can do at the minute because we can’t get into site, into the camp, so we don’t have a live show for you tonight or tomorrow night."

Will Richard Madeley be on I'm A Celebrity?

Richard Madeley will not be able to return to the castle.

The presenter was rushed to hospital from the castle last week after becoming 'incoherent' due to dehydration and a lack of sleep.

His trip to hospital meant that he broke the secure bubble required to keep the celebrities safe from Covid-19. Richard was reportedly 'livid' that he was not able to return.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain after returning on to our TV screens, he said: "I think what happened to me was, I think I got dehydrated, that's all it was. But dehydration is actually quite disturbing. It's not a pleasant thing.

"I think I had been up for 20 hours the day before, and the day before that having very long days. We were sleeping quite late.
