Is Good Morning Britain live on Christmas Day, why's it on and when was it filmed?

If the excitement has kept you awake and you're up early on Christmas day, the TV may already be on.

And you may be surprised to see that Good Morning Britain is on the air like it usually is from 6am on weekdays.

That's because Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid are hosting a festive special of the ITV news programme for the first time ever.

GMB will relive the moments created by the real stars of 2020 - celebrating Covid heroes up and down the country, from the likes of Captain Sir Tom to the incredible staff of the NHS.

It's the first time GMB has aired on Christmas day (ITV)

But Susanna and Piers haven't really given up their Christmas day for work, as the show was pre-recorded in advance.

And it's not just GMB, as Lorraine Kelly will broadcast her show at 9am followed by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who will present a two-hour This Morning special.
