Is former Titans OC Matt LaFleur in for a rough time with Aaron Rodgers?

There’s a lot of positives for former Tennessee Titans coach Matt LaFleur as he goes from offensive coordinator to head coach.

But he’s entered what could be a potentially unfavorable situation in Green Bay with the information that’s recently surfaced about the relationship between quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former coach Mike McCarthy.

A recent article by Bleacher Report’s Tyler Dunne highlights the struggles in the pair’s relationship, with a growing grudge that may have started as early as 2005.

Rodgers was vocal about his disdain for some of McCarthy’s play calling, and apparently changed one-third of play calls given to him by the coach.

Could LaFleur be in for the same type of challenge that McCarthy faced with the signal-caller?

It’s entirely possible.

Rodgers’ first comments on the hire at the NFL Honors, which started out with, “A lot of change, in life in general, it’s tough at first,” didn’t exactly beam with positive energy.

These words already have former Packer wide receiver Greg Jennings wary.

“I know how Aaron operates,” Jennings said in the article. “For him to make that statement, it already lets me know he’s going to make it hard on a young Matt LaFleur.”

LaFleur may be a rung higher on the ladder than he previously was, but it’s clear he may be in for a difficult time in his first head coaching gig.
