Civil servants across the country have just had their big day. April 1, national civil servants day, has just passed by with rewards being handed out to a few outstanding officials -- a top honour or a once-in-a-lifetime affair -- for those working for the state.
Several state agencies this week released a number of pictures of their award winners to the media, calling for attention to this special event which happens to coincide with April Fools' Day. At this time of celebration, it's a pity the record of the civil service has been tainted with a series of corruption scandals.
