DI Malone may well have nine lives, considering the amount of times he has been bashed over the head and miraculously survived.
But has the Emmerdale detective finally run out of luck after lover Harriet smashed a lamp into his skull?
Viewers will discover DI Malone's true fate tonight, which could see Harriet and Dawn in serious trouble.
On Monday, a furious DI Malone had taunted drug addict Dawn, who got clean for her son Lucas, with heroin after discovering she had shopped him to the police.
Handling a gun, he placed the drugs on the table in the hope that she would overdose on them.
As Dawn broke down in tears, he told her: "Pick it up, that's a good girl.
"No pain, no violence. Your old friend's waiting for you."
But when Dawn reached for the drugs, Harriet surprised them both by smashing Malone over the head with a lamp.
Malone's body fell to the floor with a thump, with Harriet and Dawn staring down at it in horror.
Dawn discovered the truth about Malone's affair with Harriet and demanded the vicar to tell her dad about what had been going on.
She went one step further by reporting DI Malone to the police for misconduct and his secret drug dealing.
But has Harriet finally killed Malone?
