Is David DeCastro the Steelers best first-round pick of the last decade?

An NFL front office is made by their ability to secure the most talent possible via the NFL draft. While the steals of the draft draw all the headlines, winning in the first round is easily just as important. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been very fortunate to hit more than miss over the last decade on their first-round picks. But who is the best?

The folks over at Touchdown Wire gave their picks for the best first-round pick for every team in the NFL. And for the Steelers they went with guard David DeCastro.

David DeCastro is an elite offensive lineman for the Steelers. A four-time Pro Bowler, the 24th overall selection out of Stanford in 2012 is one of the finest linemen in the game.

There’s no doubt DeCastro is one of the premier guards in the league. He’s been named an All-Pro three times which is the true measure of success, especially for an offensive lineman.

Who else could you make a case for? Center Maurkice Pouncey definitely qualifies. As does defensive lineman Cam Heyward. If not for his injury, we would probably be including linebacker Ryan Shazier in this debate as well.

We want to hear from you. Who is the best first-round pick of the Steelers in the last decade?
