Is Dancing On Ice on ITV tonight as five couples remain in the competition?

Dancing On Ice returns to television screens tonight with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby following a weeks' break.

The popular ITV show didn't air on Sunday 21 February due to another celebrity pulling out of the competition.

This year's series has been plagued by injuries and illness after several contestants hurt themselves during rehearsals and a couple tested positive for coronavirus.

There are 10 weeks in a series of Dancing On Ice under normal circumstances, with its sixth week due to air tonight at 6pm.

However, there are only five celebrities left in the competition - making a final with three stars impossible at the moment.

It was confirmed earlier this week that the Dancing On Ice final has been brought forward by one week.

An ITV Spokesperson issued a statement that read: "ITV have taken the decision to move the final of Dancing on Ice forward by one week.

"The competition’s final will now take place on Sunday 14th March. Our production team and cast have delivered a fantastic show during incredibly challenging times.

"Continuing to make the best TV for our viewers is our top priority and we look forward to the rest of the series, on air from this Sunday at 6pm."

Two of the five celebrities to pull out were due to positive coronavirus tests rather than injuries: comedian Rufus Hound and, more recently, Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant.

Despite isolating and recovering, Joe-Warren and his professional partner Vanessa Bauer have not been allowed to return to the competition.

Dancing On Ice airs tonight at 6:15pm on ITV.
