Is Colts QB Andrew Luck’s retirement good news for the Titans?

This isn’t even a question.

The quarterback the Tennessee Titans have never defeated under center for the Indianapolis Colts has officially retired from the NFL.

Luck originally had a calf strain in March, but tests earlier in the month showed that he was still having pain in the “high anklish” area.

The last time Luck was out of commission was in 2017, when the Colts finished out the season with a dismal overall record of 4-12.

Luck also was named the NFL’s Most Improved Player last year, passing for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns.

If all goes as planned, quarterback Jacoby Brissett – a signal-caller The Titans have defeated in the past – will start Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The division rival Indianapolis will still be a formidable opponent for Tennessee, but the absence of a quarterback they couldn’t get a single win against certainly simplifies things.

The Titans face the Colts for the first time this year on Sept. 15 in Nissan Stadium.

They take on Indianapolis a second time on Dec 1 in Lucas Oil Stadium.
