Is Case Keenum on the receiving end of shade from a Broncos player?

Washington Redskins quarterback Case Keenum spent last year with the Denver Broncos before being traded.

His replacement, Joe Flacco, is holding up much better than past Broncos quarterbacks in the mind of Denver running back Devontae Booker, according to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver:

“He’s such a cool guy,” Klis quoted Booker as saying. “He talks to everybody in locker room. Previous QB didn’t do that. They’d just be on the field, get the job done, see each other walking through halls—wouldn’t even acknowledge us. Flacco is a pretty cool guy.”

It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of Keenum and other former Broncos quarterbacks. But the saving grace for Keenum might be the fact this could be referring to others, such as Paxton Lynch or Trevor Siemian — though the phrase “previous QB” indicates it’s likely Keenum.

Either way, Keenum has passed the eye test so far with the Redskins as he competes with Dwayne Haskins in OTAs. He’s got a serious shot at the starting job this year regardless of what Booker thinks.
