What's the worst thing to do before bed if you want a good rest?

Do you ever scroll social media or check work emails right before bedtime? You could be self-sabotaging a good night's sleep.

Australians on average are sleeping seven hours a night and 12 per cent of us are getting less than five-and-a-half hours according to a 2016 study commissioned by the Sleep Health Foundation.

Overall, nearly half (48 per cent) reported having two or more sleep difficulties or daytime symptoms.

These problems included difficulty falling asleep, waking up a lot overnight, daytime sleepiness, daytime fatigue or exhaustion, feeling irritable or moody and pathological daytime sleepiness.
