With Battlefield 6 shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated shooters, many Xbox and PC players are wondering if they’ll be able to jump into the action through Xbox Game Pass. Given EA’s history of working closely with Microsoft—and the fact that several past Battlefield titles eventually made their way to Game Pass—this is a valid question for anyone hoping to save on launch day costs.
In this article, we break down everything we know so far about Battlefield 6 and its potential availability on Game Pass, based on official announcements and EA’s current subscription strategy.
Here’s everything you need to know about Battlefield 6 being on the Game Pass.
Will Battlefield 6 be on Game Pass?

When Battlefield 6 officially launches, it likely won’t be fully available through Xbox Game Pass or the regular EA Play subscription right away. This isn’t unusual, as EA generally waits around six months before adding its newest games to these services. So if you were hoping to jump into the full version of the title on day one just by being a Game Pass member, that’s probably not going to happen.
That said, there’s still some good news if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as this tier includes access to EA Play, and you might get a 10-hour early access trial. This limited-time trial usually drops either right before or on launch day and lets you try the game out before deciding if you want to buy it or upgrade to another subscription.
If you’re looking for full access to Battlefield 6 the moment it releases, EA Play Pro is your best bet, but it’s only available on PC. This version of EA’s subscription service often includes day-one access to the full game along with any premium editions or bonuses.
Battlefield 6 release date
Battlefield 6 is officially set to launch on Oct. 10, 2025, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game brings large-scale multiplayer combat, updated classes, and improved destruction mechanics.
Ahead of launch, EA has confirmed two open beta weekends for players to try the game early:
- Beta Weekend 1: Aug. 7 to 10 (early access on Aug. 7 and 8, open to all on Aug. 9 and 10)
- Beta Weekend 2: Aug. 14 to 17 (fully open to all players)
Beta access is available on all platforms. You can secure early access by pre-ordering the game, participating in Battlefield Labs, or earning Twitch Drops through partnered streamers.

EA has also revealed two different editions for Battlefield 6:
- Standard Edition ($69.99 / £59.99): Includes the base game.
- Phantom Edition ($99.99 / £89.99): Includes the base game and bonus in-game content like cosmetics and early beta access.
Players who want early access to the first beta can get it by pre-ordering the Phantom Edition, watching certain Twitch streams for Twitch Drops, or by already being part of the Battlefield Labs playtesting group.
As of now, Battlefield 6 is not confirmed for Xbox Game Pass or EA Play at launch. There may be a 10-hour trial for Game Pass Ultimate users through EA Play, but this has not been officially announced.
With the release date approaching fast, these beta weekends offer a great chance to try out the game early and see what’s new.
