Is B&M still open? Store updates fans as UK goes into lockdown amid coronavirus crisis

During the ongoing coronavirus crisis people in the UK have been told to only leave their home if it's absolutely essential.

New rules laid out by Prime Minister Boris Johnson have put the UK on lockdown and include the immediate closure of all shops selling non-essential items.

The Government has now published a list of retailers that are allowed to keep their shopfronts open, but urged people to only go to them if they have to.

Responding to the latest news, B&M has offered an update to fans and has said it will remain open.

"B&M is open through the current crisis in line with Government guidance.

"We stock thousands of food & grocery lines, pet food, cleaning goods & toiletries as well as hardware essentials such as small kitchen appliances, light bulbs & batteries."

The store then outlined what it would be doing to protect its staff and customers during the current climate.

B&M Stores explained: "Please observe social distancing when shopping with us.

"Please use contactless payments where possible and follow the instructions of the store's Social Distancing Marshall, respecting the two metre distance at checkouts.
