Is Aditya Chopra planning to merge Abhishek Bachchan's character from 'Dhoom' with Pathaan, Tiger and Kabir from the spy universe? Here's what we know...

Aditya Chopra has kick-started his spy universe with Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'. While we all are eagerly waiting for Pathaan v/s Tiger film and a sequel of Hrithik Roshan’s War, reports are now rife that the producer might integrate his Dhoom franchise with the spy universe.

Abhishek Bachchan's 'Dhoom' character Jai Dixit is also an important character backed by the production house, and Aditya is keen to integrate him in the upcoming movies. However, concrete writing on that front hasn’t begun yet. It is certain that Abhishek Bachchan’s Jai Dixit does have a future in the spy universe. All these films will be mounted on a large scale, and the writers and the filmmakers at YRF are excited to explore this opportunity, a report in Pinkvilla stated.

'Dhoom' has been one of the most successful franchises we have in Bollywood. The first 'Dhoom' film was released in 2004 and it featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra and Esha Deol. It was followed by 'Dhoom 2' with Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and 'Dhoom 3' with Aamir Khan.

Shridhar Raghavan, who has worked on the screenplay of ‘Tiger 3’, had exclusively told ETimes, “In the next couple of films, we’ll get a clearer sense of the rules of this universe, and what the relationships of the universe are. There are quite a few ideas that Aditya Chopra has. There will be more writers, more directors working with that, because when you building the universe, it's a large enough thing. We want to tell large stories, small stories, comic book stories, different tones, different characters. We want to revisit characters people may have thought are done and dusted, we may go backwards and tell some stories about somebody. And so there are so many options."

Meanwhile, 'Pathaan' has been doing a record-breaking collection at the box office. The film also starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles.
