Looks like we may have a Ms Marvel film on our hands.
Speaking to MTV News, comedic star and creative mind Mindy Kaling has revealed that she has been discussing with Marvel Studios the potential of bringing the heroine Ms Marvel to the screen - either big or small.
In Marvel Comics, Ms Marvel was the original alias of Carol Danvers, now better known as Captain Marvel.
Since losing the alias, it has been taken up by fan-favourite Muslim superhero Kamala Khan.
Mindy Kaling said: "I think the people I’ve spoken to Marvel about it are so excited about the character and I think that they’re trying to figure out what to do with it. I told them I would help in any way because I truly love her. They really seemed interested, and I think they will probably do something."
The star of Late Night revealed that there was the potential for Khan to find a home on upcoming streaming service Disney+.
"Now that there’s like this streaming service with them, it might be something like that, but I think they understand how much there is the excitement."
It is unknown how tied to Captain Marvel the potential adaptation would be, but in the comics, Khan has a close teacher-student relationship with Danvers.
So could Brie Larson put in an appearance as the cosmic heroine?
Regardless, we look set to see a sequel for Danvers' movies, with the latest rumours suggesting she will face off with classic Marvel Comics villain Michael Korvac.
