Is a messy fridge door the eyesore of your kitchen? This clever DIY hack brings order without erasing personality – and it'll take you less than five minutes to do

A kitchen with green cabinets with gold hardware, black marble countertops, and gold pendant light fixtures.

The outside of fridge doors can be like pages of a scrapbook. They hold everything from old drawings and family photos to business cards from your favorite restaurants and even mementos from vacations past. The only difference – you can close up and hide away a scrapbook whenever you want. As for your fridge, well, those memories are on full display, 24/7.

Of course, there is a charming quality to a fridge decorated over time with personal mementos; however, there's a fine line between charming and chaotic, and more often than not, the chaos wins.

It's the sad truth that personal art and treasured keepsakes aren't always the most attractive-looking things. But they tell your story, and make your home feel more like you. So, how do you straighten up the 'always-open scrapbook' that is your fridge doors? I'll tell you – magnetic frames.

As if you were creating a gallery wall for your fridge, magnetic frames simply enclose your fridge art in a way that makes each piece look more intentional. Home renovation and design duo Wonhaus recently shared a video about this idea, demonstrating just how easy it is to turn your fridge-mounted memories into a refined collection of art that is organized and pleasing to the eye.

These magnetic frames are an incredibly simple DIY project that can elevate your home. All you need is magnetic tape, a picture frame of your choosing, and the art you'd like to frame to make it happen. Simply remove any pre-installed backing from the picture frame, add strips of magnetic tape around the edges, slide your art into position, and voilà – you've created a stylish new display of fridge art in no time.

Not only are magnetic frames a handy decluttering method that can organize the doors of your fridge, but they can also enhance the personality of your fridge art and even the character of your kitchen. Choose frames in all different colors, styles, and shapes to do so. Even better – decorate with vintage frames to amplify the charming quality of your fridge art.

As for styling, the opportunities are endless. Treat your fridge doors as you would a blank canvas. Group all of your magnetic frames together in one corner, or perhaps spread them across the entire fridge. And if your microwave's surface is magnetic, why not add a magnetic frame there, too?

Since I know a DIY project isn't for everyone, I've found a few ready-made magnetic frames that are stylish and affordable, too. They can help you achieve the gallery wall look for your fridge without any hassle. Shop a few of my favorite picks, below.

Now that you have the exterior in order, what about the inside of your fridge? Organizing a refrigerator is just as important as organizing any part of your home, and it can even help you keep food fresh for longer.
