Irvine Welsh slams UK Government for 'ripping off' Trainspotting speech

Irvine Welsh has hit out at the UK Government for “ripping off” his work.

The 61-year-old slammed a new advert for stealing his Choose Life monologue from Trainspotting.

The furious author took to Twitter saying 'Just when you thought the c**** couldn’t sink any lower.'

His outburst was in reply to journalist Mic Wright who accused the UK Government of copying.

Mic had called out their new advert, with Waitrose, recruiting fruit and veg pickers that reads “Pick getting out the house. Pick rain. Pick shine. Pick fruit and veg”.
