Irvine Welsh Rangers rant in full as he calls for Alfredo Morelos to be 'macheted into small pieces'

Irivine Welsh’s sick comments about Alfredo Morelos can now be laid bare.

The Trainspotting author sparked outrage online among Rangers fans on Thursday when it was claimed he had used outrageous language live on air when working on Hibs’ inhouse broadcaster for the Easter Road clash between his favourites and Rangers.

Welsh, along with host David Tanner and Hibs women’s captain Joelle Murray, were discussing Morelos’ first-half flashpoint that saw the Ibrox strike tread on opposition player Ryan Porteous.

But the celebrity fan shocked Hibs TV viewers when he commented the 24-year-old Colombian "should be macheted into small pieces".

Rangers supporter liason officer revealed on Thursday that Hibs had issued an apology to the runaway Premiership leaders.

The Daily Record could not previously print the transcript of Welsh’s rant due to legal reasons but now can.

The 62-year-old said: "Much more fight, much more aggression from Hibs and a bit more organisation.

"But Morelos should have been off – that was outrageous, like.

"It was a terrible sort of stamping there by the sticky bun. He should have been shown the red for that; no question at all.

"Had it been (Ryan) Porteous, he would have been off. Where is he (the ref)?

"Morelos should basically be macheted into small pieces and sent in various packages to different corners of the globe for a challenge like that and consumed by seagulls."

Welsh later added that it was "great" that closed door football meant "no away fans, not needing to listen to that sectarian nonsense".

Record Sport earlier revealed the Scottish FA are probing Welsh’s incendiary comments that are likely to land the Edinburgh club in hot water.

That news followed a Twitter post from the Ibrox club's supporters' liaison officer that said: “We are disappointed at the comments made in relation to Alfredo and our club.

“Hibs have apologised to the club today. Nevertheless, we are sure these comments will be investigated by the football authorities.”

Broadcast regulator Ofcom received more than a dozen complaints over the incident, however the watchdog pointed out they have no jurisdiction over Hibs TV as it is not a licensee of the organisation.
