Irvine Vics appoint former Maryhill manager as new boss

Irvine Vics have announced former Maryhill boss Alan Kelly as their new manager – 10 days after Brian McLuckie quit the hotseat.

Kelly brings with him long-time assistant manager Kevin Lafferty and coach Wil Devlin.

Kelly and Lafferty spent 16 months at Maryhill before resigning from their posts in October 2019.

Previous to that, the duo had a 14-year spell in charge of amateur outfit Arthurlie United.

Irvine Vics secretary David Loach said all three men have backgrounds and experience at all levels of football.

He added: "The new management team will get straight to work meeting the new players at the upcoming training sessions and assessing the team for the upcoming West of Scotland Conference A season.

"Pre-season fixtures are still booked in and will be confirmed in due course.

"We wish to thank all other applicants for their time in applying and wish them all the best in their future footballing endeavours."
