Irvine town centre stores are back in business and welcoming customers old and new

Stores in the Bridgegate and High Street in Irvine threw open their doors on Monday morning.

Kaleidoscope sales manager, Dillon Green said there was a great atmosphere in the town.

He said: “To see the high street getting a boost after lockdown is just amazing.

“It’s busy here, more people than we expected. We’ve have a steady stream of regular and new customers since 9am.

“We’re so happy with the response and there is a great atmosphere in the town.

“We closed on March 23, and it was a difficult experience. We’ve been in the town for 15 years and the most we’ve ever been closed is Christmas and New Year so to shut for such a long period of time is bizarre.

“It actually feels like we’ve all starting a new job today.

“We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who stuck with us during this tough time.

“There was never a time where I thought we would close for good because our amazing customers continued to use our online and phone order service.

“Many left notes of thanks to us when we delivered their goods. We can’t thank those who support local business enough.

“It’s a really nice feeling to know people appreciate local business.”
