A man who pushed his partner into a bath and struck her with a shower head was jailed for 18 months.
John McConville appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and admitted assaulting his partner by repeatedly slapping her on the face at an address in Irvine in May.
The 35-year-old admitted seizing her and attempting to push her into a basin of water.
He also threw her in to a bath, turned on the shower and repeatedly struck her head with the shower head.
McConville, a prisoner of Barlinne, also pleaded guilty to having cannabis on May 20.
